About PokéTruc

This site was developed for fun, and also for learning purposes (not being a developer, it's a bit of a challenge for me). That's why it is very simple and basic.

Its purpose is to list all Pokémon TCG cards with unique illustrations. By unique, I mean artwork that is only available in one language (Japanese, English, Chinese, or other) or only released in a single region (e.g. Western-only sets like Call of Legends or My First Battle, never released in Japan). This is the kind of card I like to collect.

It is completely free and ad-free.

What is a language-exclusive Pokémon card?

A Pokémon TCG card whose illustration was only ever printed in a single language. For example, a promo distributed only in Japanese magazines, or a card from a Chinese-market set that was never released in any other language.

Why do some Pokémon cards only exist in Japanese?

Japan gets many promotional cards tied to local magazines, vending machines, stores and events. Many of these promos were never reprinted for other markets, so their artwork exists only on the Japanese card.

What do Western-exclusive and Asian-exclusive mean?

A Western-exclusive card was released in Western languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish…) but never in Japan or Asia — for example the Call of Legends set. An Asian-exclusive card is the reverse: released in one or more Asian languages but never in the West.

How many exclusive cards does PokéTruc catalogue?

PokéTruc currently catalogues 690 language- and region-exclusive card illustrations across 200 Pokémon, published from 1996 to 2026. The catalogue is updated as new exclusive cards are released or discovered.

Is PokéTruc an official Pokémon website?

No. PokéTruc is an unofficial, fan-made, free and ad-free catalogue. Pokémon and Pokémon character names are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc.

Can I help correct a mistake or add missing cards or Pokémon?

Yes, contributions are very welcome. If you spot an error, know of an exclusive card that is missing, or want a Pokémon added to the catalogue, get in touch on Reddit (u/Begooderrr), by email (poketruc@icloud.com) or by opening an issue on the GitHub project — see the Contact and Source code sections below.
